IPAF OPERATOR TRAINING

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

The IPAF Operator training course is designed for personnel who are in charge of using MEWPs in the categories 3A (Scissorlifts) and 3B (Cherry Pickers) in their place of work. There are no entry requirements for delegates although experience and a basic working understanding of MEWPs is advantageous for those who seek to successfully complete the course in one day.

WHAT ARE THE AIMS OF THE COURSE?

The IPAF Operator Course is delivered over 7 hours of dual theory and practical instruction and assessment and makes sure that delegates learn how best to safely operate, select and inspect MEWPs in the relevant categories in the workplace.

In terms of what will be learned, the following points are among those covered:

– Introduction to IPAF and MEWPs

– Rules and regulations

– Best practice

– MEWP categories

– Inspection and safe handover

– Structural parts of equipment

– Renewal of licences

THE PAL + course

In addition to the 3A/3B modules the PAL+ course offers 3A+ and 3B+ modules that are more aimed towards those operators who are involved in using the relevant MEWPs on challenging terrain, confined spaces and in higher risk environments. A theory test, a practical test and an interview must be passed in order to complete each module.
