Enhancing Site Safety Through Effective Ground-to-Operator Communication
Safe working from height involves high levels of training and concentration from all members of the workforce and MEWP Spotter Training is designed to enhance communication between individuals on the ground and aerial lift operators especially when visibility levels are restricted. This is a theory-only course that can be taken at your own pace online. It covers hazard awareness, hand signalling and safe positioning.
The spotter has a vital role on site when it comes to the maintenance of safe working conditions. This course will aid them in their duties, including:
- Identification of potential hazards
- Safe positioning of machinery
- Clear communication with the operator
- Collision and incident prevention
- Safe operation in busy areas or with restricted visibility
This is an E-learning course that takes around 2.5 hours to complete and applicants are given a multiple-choice assessment at the end of the course. Upon successful completion of the MEWP Spotter Training Course, applicants are given a digital certificate via the IPAF ePAL app that is valid for five years.
